Taba Tours

Taba tours allow you to experience the history, as well as the present state, of this fascinating border city. While you won’t find Taba featured in many of our regular privately guided Egypt tour packages, you will see it featured in some Egypt and Jordan tours.

Taba is a small Egyptian town that is located near the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. Taba is both an important city for border crossing as well as for vacationing. It is especially popular among local and Israeli tourists but is often overlooked by other international travelers.

Many of those who do choose to visit Taba, often visit the area after enjoying a Nile River cruise. For the most part, Taba is a sort of “add-on” destination. Besides the wonderful uniqueness of the area, it is also a very convenient destination for travelers who want to book a day-trip to the Lost City of Petra in Jordan.

Taba is a Quiet Destination

There’s really no comparing Taba to some of the other popular locations in Egypt like Cairo, Luxor, or even Sharm El Sheikh. Taba’s entertainment is modest at best, as the town mainly consists of a bus depot and a luxury hotel and casino.

Nevertheless, Taba is still a popular spot for day tours, and for travelers who are anxious to see all of Egypt, as well as resident Egyptians looking for local fun.

Taba is ideally located, between Israel and Egypt and so is often used as a weekend getaway type of destination. Of all the resort destinations around Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera, it is the most northerly one.

Best of all, Taba is a quiet destination that offers a much more relaxing experience than the nearby resort towns of Hurghada and Sharm. Hurghada and Sharm offer far more in terms of excitement, but also significantly bigger crowds.

Remember that even if you run out of things to do in Taba you can still work with tour operators and purchase day tours to nearby locations like Mount Sinai and Petra which is located across the border in Jordan.

The Hilton Taba Resort & Nelson Village

Although plans are on for the future to make Taba more tourist-friendly, there are still some attractions worth seeing on private tours to the area.

The best commercial location is undoubtedly the Hilton Taba Resort & Nelson Village. This casino hotel is actually located between four different countries including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel and Egypt.

The hotel offers 410 rooms as well as a private beach, a kids’ club, swimming pools, tennis courts and spa treatment.

The Nelson Village center is a special luxury extension made of local stone and natural woods, which perfectly blend with the surrounding landscape.

The hotel is conveniently located on the Egyptian-Israeli border and also a short drive to several important locations like Nuweiba port, Taba International Airport and Eilat Airport.
