10-Day Luxury Nile Cruise and Cairo Tour

Day 1: Arrive in Egypt

The time for your luxury Nile cruise and Cairo tour has finally arrived. Touch down in Cairo where one of our tour managers will be waiting for you at the Airport, along with a driver. Once you pass through immigration, you’ll be met at greeted, and then escorted to your hotel where you will be staying during your time in this enchanting city.

On arrival at the hotel, you will be assisted with check-in, and the you and your tour manager will go over your itinerary, and pick up times for your tours will be set. Enjoy the remainder of your day any way you want.

Day 2: Pyramids and the GEM Tour

Soon after breakfast, you’ll be picked up for a trip to the Giza Pyramids, where you’ll have the chance to see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as Cheops to the ancient Greeks. Alongside Cheops, you’ll also explore the pyramids of Khafre (Chephren) and Menkaure (Mykerinos), as well as the famous Sphinx and the Valley Temple.

Following your time at the pyramids, you’ll enjoy lunch at a popular local restaurant. Afterward, you’ll visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum, showcasing thousands of artifacts, including all the treasures from King Tutankhamen’s tomb. For those interested in viewing real mummies, a separate room houses them, and visitors may purchase an additional ticket for entry.

Today’s journey on your Egypt New Year Tour concludes with a visit to the vibrant Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, located in Cairo’s Islamic Quarter. After exploring the bazaar, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel.

Day 3: Luxor/Nile Cruise

After breakfast your tour manager will escort you to Cairo Airport, where you will board a flight to Luxor. In Luxor you will be met by our representative and taken to board 5-star cruise ship which will be your home throughout your cruise down the Nile.

In the afternoon after you have had lunch, you will spend time exploring the Luxor East Bank area, including the Temples of Karnak and the Luxor Temple. You will enjoy afternoon tea and dinner aboard ship, and you will spend the first night of your cruise on the quiet waters of the Nile at Luxor.

Day 4: Luxor Sightseeing

After enjoying breakfast aboard ship, you will visit the Luxor West Bank area, and set off to see the Valley of the Kings, as well as the Temple of Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon.

Lunch and afternoon tea are served aboard ship, while sailing along the Nile to Edfu. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep aboard ship at Edfu.

Day 5: Edfu and Kom Ombo

After enjoying a good breakfast aboard ship, you will be heading out to explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu.

You will then return to your ship and begin sailing towards Kom Ombo. On arrival, you will explore the Kom Ombo Temple before returning to the ship and continuing your journey along the Nile to Aswan.

Enjoy dinner aboard ship and get another good night’s sleep on the Nile, this time at Aswan.

Day 6: Aswan Sightseeing

In Aswan breakfast will be served before you venture out to the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae.

You will also sail in a Felucca boat to the Botanical Gardens, before enjoying lunch and dinner back aboard your cruise ship. The last night of your cruise will once again be spent on the Nile at Aswan.

Day 7: Fly to Cairo

On the 7th day of your luxury Nile cruise and Cairo tour you will have breakfast and then disembark from your cruise ship. You will have some free time to explore Aswan, and then at the appropriate time you will be taken to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo where you will stay the night.

Day 8: Egyptian Museum/Coptic Cairo

You will enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then visit the Egyptian Museum, home to more than 120,000 pharaonic artifacts. The museum also has a number of mummies on display in a separate section which you can visit for an additional fee. Lunch will be had at the Hard Rock Café, followed by a trip to the Hanging Church and Abu Sirga Church in the heart of Coptic Cairo. You’ll stay overnight in your hotel.

Day 9: Free at Cairo / Optional Alexandria

Enjoy a free day of exploring the city of Cairo on your own, or opt to visit Alexandria. In the second capital of Egypt, you will enjoy Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th century, as well as the Montazah Palace and the New Library of Alexandria. A trip to the Roman Catacombs is also worthwhile. You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and stay the night in Cairo.

Day 10: Final Departure

Wake up and enjoy a good hearty breakfast at your hotel. Unfortunately, when your tour manager comes to fetch you today, it is going to be different from previous days because he will be coming to take you to the airport. Yes, today marks the end of your luxury Nile cruise and Cairo tour, but the memories you have will never end.

On arrival at the airport you will be assisted with your luggage and check-in, and then it is time for everyone to say their goodbyes. Your tour manager will thank you once more, and wish you a safe trip back home.
