Red Sea Egypt Vacations – A Diver’s Paradise
To begin, when most people think of scuba diving, they think of the Caribbean and other tropical locales. When they think of Egypt, they think of the Giza Pyramid complex, desert sands and the country’s many historic sites that line the banks of the Nile River in Upper Egypt. However, besides the country’s countless historic sites and its amazing history, Egypt’s Red Sea coatline is where you will find some of the most amazing snorkeling and scuba diving sites in the world.
From gorgeous brightly colored coral reefs to exotic fish and plant-life, you won’t be disappointed with Egypt vacation packages that include snorkeling or diving in the Red Sea at places like Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and Marsa Alam. Sharm El Sheikh has grown to become a lively city with a vibrant culture of its own, while Hurghada is considerably more laid back, and Marsa Alam even more so.

Even if you are not an experienced diver, Egypt Tours Plus has Egypt vacation packages that let you get your PADI diving certification, which is recognized internationally. Both novice and veteran divers from all over the world will love the opportunities and great deals available for scuba diving in Egypt’s clear blue water during their vacation in Egypt.
In the three places mentioned above, you’ll find miles of amazing hotels, spectacular all inclusive resorts, gorgeous beaches and some of the clearest, most beautiful water in the entire world. Divers can look forward to spotting lionfish, Spanish dancer nudibranch, stingrays, and Hurghada stars, as well as all kinds of other undersea wildlife.

And, when you’re not diving, when you spend time on your Egypt vacation packages in Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada, you can enjoy vibrant nightlife, excellent restaurants, and even camel rides with Bedouins in the desert, too. All inclusive Egypt vacation packages that include Hurghada or Sharm are full of fun and adventure, as well as culture and amazing dining.
Both place are extremely popular among visitors from both Europe and America, and currently prices are very affordable. For the ultimate experience, consider booking a Cairo & Nile cruise package that includes at least two or three days in one of these two amazing coastal resort towns. This will allow you to enjoy private guided tours in Cairo during which you will visit places like the Pyramids of Giza, the Egyptian Museum and the bustling Khan el Khalili Bazaar before heading to Aswan or Luxor for a 5-Star cruise on the Nile River, after which you will get to spend a few days on Egypt’s beautiful Red Sea coast.

Historical Trips to Egypt
Visit Valley Of The Kings
The Valley of the Kings is located in Upper Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile River near modern day Luxor. In terms of visitor numbers, this site is second only to the majestic Pyramids of Giza in Cairo. When you visit Biban El Moluk (the Valley of the Kings), you’ll see some of the most impressive ancient tombs in all of the world. Wear a good pair of walking shoes for Egypt vacation packages that include the Valley of the Kings, though, because you’ll be given the opportunity not just to lay eyes on the exteriors of these impressive tombs, but you will also to be able to enter and explore some of them.

Perhaps the most famous tomb found here is Tutankhamen’s, which was a great find of the 20th century, as it was not discovered until the 1920s when it was unearthed fully intact. However, you’ll find it interesting as you walk through these ancient burial places, to discover that Tutankhamen was not the wealthiest of pharaohs. You may be surprised to find some of the lesser known of these kings were also some of the wealthiest with some of the largest tombs.
Of course, if you want to see the jewels and treasures that Tutankhamen and other pharaohs were buried with, you won’t find them in the Valley of the Kings. These relics are on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which is itself one of the top tourist attractions in Egypt.

The Valley of Kings can be visited as part of a day trip from Cairo. A one-day Luxor tour will typically also include a visit to other ancient sites in the area, including Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. Be aware that with a one-day Luxor tour, you will be following quite a rushed schedule. If you have the time, and if your finances allow for it, We would highly recommend booking and Egypt tour package that includes a Nile cruise since all good Nile cruises include a guided Luxor tour.
See the Temples of Karnak
According to BBC’s Michael Wood, “Karnak is like a theme park of ancient Egyptian religion – in which every god and goddess of that civilization was represented over a period of about 2,000 years.” The temples and other structures here are gathered on the site of the ancient city of Thebes in a space that covers more than a square mile of land. Here you’ll find an incredible diorama of ancient history, including all manners of temples, obelisks, kiosks, and sanctuaries dedicated exclusively to the worship of gods and goddesses.

At Karnak, you’ll see the Great Temple of Amun and its Hypostyle Hall, and there are multiple Light and Sound performances eachevening to bring these amazing pieces of history to life right before your eyes, giving Egypt vacation packages even more appeal. Not surprisingly, a visit to Karnak Temple is included in all of our existing Nile cruises from Luxor to Aswan. Our Aswan to Luxor cruises also include a visit to the Karnak Temple complex which is the second most visited archaeological site in Egypt, second only to the ancient pyramids at the Giza pyramid complex.
Experience the Luxor Temple
Speaking of ancient Thebes, this site is now the home of the city of Luxor, where you can find even more breathtaking ancient attractions than just the temples at Karnak. In the very center of the city, for example, you’ll find the Temple of Luxor.
Built by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II in approximately 1400 BC, the Temple of Luxor was erected to house celebrations of the festival of Opet. As years passed, the rulers who followed these two continued building onto the impressive structure, and its function turned to a place of worship for Christians and then later for Muslims. You can still see the beautiful mosque that was built inside the temple today.
Daytime visits to the Temple of Luxor during Egypt vacation packages are impressive enough. However, to get the most out of the view, take a walk to this beautiful structure around sunset, as it is especially beautifully illuminated at night, making this a popular time to visit the complex.

Luxor Temple is another ancient monument which features in most of our all-inclusive Egypt holiday packages and in every Nile River cruise offered on our website.
See El-Amarna
Located between Luxor and the Nile River delta is an artifact from one of Egyptian history’s greatest scandals. Many books and movies have been created about the famed Nefertiti and her husband Akhenaten, the “heretic” pharaoh. In potentially the very first attempt at monotheism in history, Akhenaten broke away from worshipping the traditional Egyptian gods and goddesses when he built the new capital and started a new form of worship.

To start anew and commune with their new god Aten (the sun, who replaced Amun), Akhenaten and Nefertiti moved to El-Amarna, their sanctuary of new religious dreams. In just a few years, though, both were dead, and worship turned back to the old gods.
The abandoned royal tombs of El-Amarna still stand in the eastern water channels, and the entire site is both beautiful and lonely. If you’ve ever been caught up with the story of the fabled beauty of Nefertiti and her heretic husband, El-Amarna is a beautiful place to visit to see where the tales you’ve heard and read actually occurred. This ancient gem is best visited by way of a half day trip from Luxor, one of the most interesting Egyptian cities.
Stroll Through the Grand Egyptian Museum
Of course, most Egypt vacation packages will have to include some time in Cairo to see some of the very best Cairo tourist attractions, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Khan el Khalili market, and the Grand Egyptian Museum. This remarkable museum covers roughly 5,000 years of Egyptian history and Egyptian culture. By visiting this museum before or after you visit the Valley of the Kings and the ancient Egyptian temples of Karnak, you can get an even greater appreciation for the culture and content of these ancient structures when you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum.

With over 100,000 artifacts, it is easy to understand why the Egyptian Museum is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Cairo
Including a trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum is a great way to get a better feel for Egyptian history and culture before continuing with the rest of your plans for your Egyptian vacation. In fact, if you are at all interested in history, you should always plan to visit this museum along with historical sites on your Egypt vacation packages. With so much history and so many artifacts to peruse, it could take several vacations to Egypt to get a thorough look at everything in the museum.
Spending two or three days in Cairo before heading off to one of the country’s other popular tourist destinations, will allow you to not only enjoy the city’s vibrant culture, but it will also give you time to visit the city’s most famous tourist attractions, including the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Take a Felucca Ride on the River
Of course, not all of your time spent on Egypt vacation packages should be spent in the throes of history lessons. Feluccas (traditional sailboats) have been used to traverse the Nile River for thousands of years, and they’re a great way to see the city and surrounding areas from the water. Whether you’re staying in Cairo, Luxor, or Aswan you can choose to add a short felucca ride to your Egypt trip.

From Cairo, Luxor or Aswan, take a sunset cruise in a felucca and see the cities light up as the sun goes down. From Aswan, you can take a longer felucca cruise up the Nile River, or you can choose an all inclusive river cruise on a luxury cruise ship, depending on what you want to do and experience during your Egypt trip.
A cruise on one of the large five-star cruise ships is a magical experience which you will well and truly never forget. These vessels are akin to an all inclusive 5-Star hotel, With all the amenities you could possibly want, Including things like a large outdoor pool, a fitness center, and etc. For a truly wonderful vacation in Egypt, and the chance to discover the gems of the Nile Valley in absolute comfort and style, A five star all inclusive Nile cruise should definitely be on your bucket list of things to do in Egypt.
Enjoy Hidden History in Deir el-Medina
Another great place to visit during your Egypt vacation package is the village where the people who built the temples and pyramids of Ancient Egypt lived, Deir el-Medina. Located on the west bank of the Nile River, “Tucked away in a little valley under the western cliffs,” you’ll find one of Egypt’s best-kept and most fascinating secrets.

If you’re drawn to Egypt vacations because you’ve always wondered how the pyramids were constructed and how the people who built them lived, then you owe it to yourself to explore Deir el-Medina. You’ll love finding out all about the lives of the ordinary Egyptian men and women who created some of history’s most pictured, filmed, and talked-about structures.
The preserved papyrus texts on the lives of the people who lived in Deir el-Medina are incredibly detailed. Not only will you learn about how they went about their daily tasks, but you can also learn about intriguing details like their love affairs and relationships. If you choose to visit this site, be sure to visit the tomb of a man named Peshedu where you will see a mural depicting his afterlife with his wife, cultivating fields as they did in life.

While a lot of the surviving ruins and temples in Egypt are dedicated to the stories of pharaohs and religion, in Deir el-Medina, you can learn the stories of ordinary people. It’s a wonderful addition to Egypt vacation packages for history buffs and people interested in not only the pyramids but also the lives of the people who built them.
