8-Day Best of Egypt Tour – Cairo and Nile Cruise [By Air]

Day 1: Welcome to Cairo, the Vibrant Egyptian Capital

When you arrive in Cairo, the bustling Egyptian capital, we will have a company representative and a driver waiting for you at the airport, regardless of what time your plane lands. They will assist you with your luggage and then drive you to your hotel in a modern air-conditioned vehicle.

After you have checked in, your tour manager will discuss your itinerary with you and answer any questions you might have about your upcoming tours over the course of the next few days. He will also confirm pick up times for your various tours, and then you will be left in peace to enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum

Begin your day with a nourishing breakfast at your hotel. From there, your personal guide will escort you to the Giza Plateau, where you’ll start by marveling at the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. While exploring, you’ll also visit the renowned Sphinx and the Valley Temple.

After taking in these iconic sites, enjoy lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant. Next, you’ll head to the New Grand Egyptian Museum, also known as the Giza Museum. Located around 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex, this remarkable archaeological museum currently offers limited access as it prepares for its full opening. Here, you can explore the Main Galleries, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, shopping areas, and outdoor gardens.

When you are finished, you will be driven back to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Travel to Luxor by Air for your Nile Cruise

After you have enjoyed a really good breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Cairo International Airport, where you will board a plane for your flight from Cairo to Luxor. On landing in Luxor, you will be met by our representative and taken to board your luxury 5-Star river cruiser for your trip along the Nile.

You will enjoy lunch aboard the ship, and then visit to the ancient Karnak Temples and Luxor Temple.

Karnak Temple complex is the second-most visited ancient Egyptian monument. You will then head back to the ship where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Sail to Edfu

You will dine on the ship the next morning, and then you will be taken for an excursion to the Valley of the Kings. You will also enjoy the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

You will then board the boat for lunch and a relaxing trip along the Nile to Edfu. Dinner will be served on the boat, as well, and you will spend this night of your trip aboard the vessel at Edfu.

Day 5: Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples

Today you can look forward to two sightseeing tours. Enjoy breakfast aboard the ship and then visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu. The temple of Horus is the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple ever discovered. After your tour, you will then sail to Kom Ombo to see the Kom Ombo Temple.

This is a very unique temple that was once dedicated to two Egyptian gods. Lunch will be served aboard the ship and it will carry you down to Aswan. This night of your trip will be spent on the vessel at Aswan.

Day 6: Sightseeing in Aswan

You will enjoy breakfast on the ship, and then enjoy some great sightseeing in Aswan. You’ll visit the Unfinished Obelisk and the breathtaking Philae Temple.

You will return to your cruise ship in time for some lunch and then you will have the rest of the day free to enjoy as you wish. The last night of your Nile cruise will be spent on your cruise ship at Aswan.

Day 7: Travel Back to Cairo by Air

On day 7 of your Best of Egypt Tour you will leave the cruise ship after you have had breakfast and our tour consultant will escort you to Aswan airport. Here, you will board a plane for Cairo, where you will be met and taken to your hotel where you will be staying for the final night of your trip.

Day 8: Best of Egypt Tour Final Departure

Enjoy one last breakfast in the Egyptian capital and then your tour manager and a driver will be there to drive you to the airport. They will assist you with luggage and check-in, and then sadly it will be time for everyone to say goodbye. Have a safe and pleasant trip back home.
