15-Day Egypt Tours

Cairo, the Charismatic Egyptian Capital

Most of our existing 15-day travel bundles begin in Cairo. This is assuming that you book an Egypt only tour, or one of our multi-country tours that begin in Egypt. Cairo is a huge and densely populated city, and for those who are not familiar with it, trying to navigate your around the city can be rather overwhelming, time consuming, and far more costly than it needs to be.

As is to be expected, your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel in time for your sightseeing tours, and they will drop you off back at your hotel in the afternoon or early evening.

The Magic of a Nile River Cruise

All of our 15 Day Egypt tours, including our Egypt multi-country tours; include a Nile River cruise, either from Luxor to Aswan or from Aswan to Luxor. It is during these cruises that visitors will get to see the many ancient attractions which have helped to make Egypt such a sought-after destination.

No matter which cruise we’ve booked you onto, you will enjoy almost daily excursions that will see you visiting some of the most famous and most popular attractions that are located along the banks of the Nile between Aswan and Luxor.

All the cruise ships which feature in our tours are for the most part like 5-Star hotels on water. Dine on fine cuisine; relax and sleep in a luxurious cabin or suite, and enjoy all the many other 5-Star amenities you would expect to find in any good hotel. Depending on which tour option you choose, your cruise itinerary will typically include 4 days and 3 nights or 5 days and 4 nights on the water.

After your cruise between Aswan and Luxor, you will most like fly back to Cairo where you will spend one more night at a hotel before your leave Egypt in order to visit your next destination. Alternatively, and depending on your chosen tour package, you may be taken to spend a day or two on the Red Sea coast at Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada, and then fly to your next destination from there.

Sightseeing at Luxor

Luxor is home to several breathtaking sites, and we see to it that you get to visit some of the very best ones, and always with one of our professional guides to ensure your excursions are as rewarding as they possibly can be. On the East Bank, we take you to see the beautiful Luxor Temple, and also the ruins of the sprawling Karnak Temple complex. The Karnak Temple complex was essentially built over a period spanning more than 2,000 years.

While in Luxor, you will also be taken for a tour on the West Bank. During this excursion, you will usually visit the Valley of Kings first. This was a royal burial ground for pharaohs and other nobility during the New Kingdom era. More than 60 tombs were discovered in the valley, some of which are now open to visitors.

Your cruise includes admission to some of the tombs, but not all of them. Some of the tombs are classified as “special” tombs, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun. To enter the “special” tombs, visitors are required to buy the necessary tickets in person at the site.

After visiting the Valley of Kings, you will most likely visit Hatshepsut Temple next. The mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut is considered to be one of the Incomparable Ancient Egyptian Monuments, and anyone who has ever visited the temple would agree. Hatshepsut wanted her mortuary temple to be the grandest temple ever built, and her royal architect certainly achieved that goal.

You will typically also visit the nearby Colossi of Memnon. These two giant statues are all that remain of another much older mortuary temple that once stood adjacent to Hatshepsut Temple.

Sightseeing at Edfu

If your cruise begins in Luxor and ends in Aswan, your first stop after leaving Luxor will be at Edfu where your guide will take you to see the magnificent Edfu Temple. Also known as the Temple of Horus, this is the best-preserved ancient cult temple ever discovered in Egypt. It is also one of the biggest ancient Egyptian temples ever built. Its remarkable level of preservation is due to the fact that the temple became buried beneath the sand and it remained that way for more than 2,000 years.

Sightseeing at Kom Ombo

During your cruise towards Aswan, your boat will also stop at Kom Ombo, and your guide will take you to see Kom Ombo Temple. This complex actually consists of two identical temples. Because Kom Ombo Temple was dedicated to two different gods, each god had to have their own one and they had to be identical. One side of Kom Ombo temple was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, while the other side was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god.

Kom Ombo Temple is believed to have been the only twin temple complex ever built. It is also the only ancient Egyptian temple that was dedicated to two different gods.

Sightseeing in Aswan

Whether your cruise begins or ends in Aswan, your guide will generally take you to see three different attractions. Usually you will visit the Aswan High Dam first, then the huge Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient stone quarries in the northern region of Aswan, and finally, the amazing Temple of Philae.

Philae Temple, which was devoted to the goddess Isis, once stood on a tiny island of the same name. However, when the Aswan High Dam was being built and Lake Nasser started forming, the temple was dismantled and then reassembled on higher ground at its current location. If the temple had not been moved, it would have been lost to the lake forever, along with several other ancient Egyptian relics which now lay far beneath the surface of the lake.

Multi-Country 15-Day Tours

Some of our 15-Day Egypt Tours feature two destinations, such as Egypt and Jordan, Egypt and Dubai, Egypt and Morocco, or even Egypt and Kenya. Some others might even feature three separate destinations, such as Egypt, Jordan, and Dubai.

As is to be expected, when you book a tour with two or three different destinations, it means you have less time to visit places in Egypt, but in exchange for that sacrifice, you are afforded an opportunity to visit other fascinating historical attractions beyond Egypt, such as the indescribable Rose Red City of Petra in Jordan, or the Cappadocia region in Turkey where you can visit timeless churches that were carved out of the mountains many centuries ago.
